| We have a new blog attached to our new Photography website. I will still keep this for personal use as I don't think our clients would enjoy my rants. (Not that you do either, haha). We will post highlights from our photo shoots and other photography related stuff. www.hayesphoto.blogspot.com | | |
| 1. Do NOT ever address an email, letter, or start a sentence with, "With all due respect . . . " This phrase means the author does not in fact respect you, thinks they are the only one that can come up with a solution, and therefore thinks they are God's gift to mankind. 2. Do NOT ever ask a woman if she is pregnant. I don't care if she looks like she is about to pop, do not ask! Most of the time, the woman in question is NOT pregnant and you have just insulted her. If a woman wants you to know she is pregnant, she will tell you. If you happen to ignore this advice and end up insulting the woman, do NOT try to remedy the situation by casually asking if the woman plans on having children any time soon, it will NOT HELP. The damage has been done. At this point just admit you are socially inept and walk away. | | |
| Well, my oldest brother was married over the weekend. Honestly, our family (including his daughters) were not too happy about the union. However, I took the opportunity to be there for my nieces and I very much enjoyed the time spent with them. I love my girls! For those of you who have seen my wedding photos, yes they are wearing the dresses from my wedding. My brother and his new wife did not ask my permission and were also going to cut them all up to match the other bridesmaids dresses, thankfully the girls protested (did I mention I love my girls?) and the dresses were saved. Yay! I am amazed after all the girls have been though how well adjusted and smart they are. They are also hilariously funny. (They are hams which makes them great for photo taking). McKenzie is 12 going on 18 and when she was asking about what we charge for photography she goes, "Yeah, they're expensive, but that's just how you roll." So funny. (For the record they are not expensive, they are actually on the low end, but $900-$3000 seems like a $million to a 12 year old). Maddy is more on the shy side but she is starting to come into her own and has a very witty personality. She just comes up with these zingers out of the blue. They are very loving and affectionate and I hated to say goodbye. I love them to death! If you care to see the photos they will be at the usual place www.flickr.com/photos/lynnell | | |
| It sucks big time. I got it at the lake last weekend but just thought it was a bad burn. Later that night we go to a nice restaruant and I can hardly eat my expensive dinner because I'm nauseated, shivering uncontrollably with a body fever, and am in serious pain. Then when that subsides I have bumps all over and dark spots and even worse pain. I looked up one website that said you can just take Advil and apply aloe and wait it out. Now as I've looked more into it I should have gone to the Dr. and he could have set me up with some steroid cream and some Prednizone. That would have made my week (my Birthday week no less) much easier! A couple days ago my ankles and feet swelled up and they're huge. I'm like big foot. I keep meaning to go to the store and get some Benadryl but haven't made it. Hopefully it will take down the swelling. My skin is now in the blistering/peeling stage but I haven't had too much itching or rash suprisingly. I'd post photos but that would gross everyone out. Anyway, always wear sunscreen (even if you tan easy), being white is better than even the risk of sun poisoning. Lesson learned. | | |
| Andy is still working on photos from our trip. Some news for all you Colin Firth fans out there. He will be playing the role of Harry in the movie version of Mamma Mia!! And Pierce Brosnan (another fave of mine) is playing Sam. The downside is Donna will be played by Meryl Streep. Ug. Oh well, hopefully they don't botch it up. Jersey Boys was so awesome, I reccomend you West Coasters go see it in LA or San Diego when you get the chance. It was actually originated at the La Jolla Playouse in SD then moved to Broadway but the cast you'd see is the tour cast which I've heard is also good. Afterwards it was if Andy and I had taken a happy pill. It was THAT good. Be aware that there are som F-bombs in it. Anyway, just my plug.
